How the Sync Agent handles your data, folder access, authentication, and uploads.
Folder access
The Sync Agent only monitors folders you explicitly select. It does not scan other directories on your computer.
You choose:
- Results folder path (
UserData/Log/Results) - Telemetry folder path (
UserData/Telemetry) — optional, Pro only
What data is collected
When using the Sync Agent, MyLMU processes:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Folder paths you authorize | Know which directories to watch |
| File metadata (name, size, hash, timestamps) | Detect new files and prevent duplicates |
| Upload status | Activity Log and error reporting |
| Device info (OS, architecture, locale) | Compatibility and update delivery |
| Diagnostic logs | Troubleshooting sync issues |
See the Privacy Policy for full details on Sync Agent data handling.
Authentication
- Sign-in uses OAuth through your browser — no MyLMU password is stored in the desktop app
- A secure token is issued for background uploads
- Tokens can be revoked by signing out in the app
Upload security
- Files upload over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- Race data and telemetry are private to your account
- Other users cannot access your uploaded files unless you explicitly share them
Updates
The app checks GitHub for updates automatically and when you choose Check for Updates from the system tray right-click menu. Checks use your current version, OS, and a random device identifier. No race data is sent during update checks.
Revoking access
Sign out in the Sync Agent to invalidate the desktop token. You can also manage your account from Settings on the web dashboard.
