What happens during upload
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| Validate | Checks monthly limit, file size, and duplicate sessions |
| Upload | Saves the file to your library |
| Add to library | Adds the file to your list |
| Extract metadata | Reads car, track, lap times, and session type |
If you upload the same session twice, MyLMU will reject the duplicate.
Upload quota
| Plan | Monthly uploads | Max file size |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 3 per UTC month | 20 MB |
| Pro | Unlimited | No per-file cap (2 GB storage max) |
Deleting a file does not restore monthly quota. Quota resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
As a rough guide, ~20 MB ≈ a 15-minute recording — so Free’s size cap is often enough for a short practice or qualifying run, but not a long race. Exact size varies; see Recording in LMU.
Trying Telemetry for the first time
Free has only 3 uploads per month, so pick a useful file:
- Record (or keep) a run with at least one complete lap in the
.duckdb - Prefer something under ~20 MB if you are on Free
- Upload from Your files, then open it in the viewer
A file with no finished lap still uploads, but the track map, lap picker, and analysis tools have much less to show.
After upload
- Click the file to open the viewer
- Link to a race session
- Set visibility (Pro for Friends/Private)
When you may see an upgrade prompt
