Compare sector times (S1, S2, S3) at a glance, then use finer-grained segment tools for corner-by-corner work.
Sectors vs segments
| Concept | Granularity | Track Map tools |
|---|---|---|
| Sectors | Three timing traps per lap (S1, S2, S3) | Sector labels on map, Sector Comparison card |
| Segments | Many smaller slices (corners or ~400 m chunks) | Segment seeker, segment mini map |
Use sectors for a quick split summary; use segments to find exactly which corner cost time.
Sector comparison card
When a reference lap is loaded (desktop), a sector comparison card appears above the driver strip on the bottom-left — stacked above the segment seeker.
What the card shows
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| S1 / S2 / S3 rows | Your sector time vs reference for each sector |
| Delta per sector | Green if faster, red if slower |
| Steering wheel accent | Color matches reference type — cyan best lap, yellow picked lap, purple external/community |
| Expand | Opens the Session Laps overlay for lap picking |
Not shown on mobile layouts or without an active reference.
How to read it
- Load a reference from the driver strip
- Scan which sector row is red — that split lost the most time vs reference
- Scrub replay to that sector using map labels or the timeline
- Drop into segment seeker to walk individual corners inside that sector
Sector labels on the map
Sector boundaries (S1, S2, S3) appear on the 2D map and 3D replay during replay so you can see where each sector starts and ends.
On 2D, sector labels hide while Follow car is on — turn follow off for a full-circuit overview with sector markers visible.
Segment tools
| Tool | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Segment seeker | ← / → buttons to jump replay segment by segment |
| Segment mini map | Top-down map with segment colors and click-to-seek markers (desktop, when traces closed) |
Sector zoom (Pit Wall only)
S1 / S2 / S3 zoom buttons on the map — which crop the view to a sector boundary — are a Pit Wall feature, not Track Map. See Pit Wall track map panel.
On Track Map, focus a sector by scrubbing the timeline, reading sector labels, or stepping segments after you identify the slow sector from the comparison card.
Suggested workflow
- Load Best lap or Community best as reference
- Read the Sector Comparison card — note the reddest sector
- Replay through that sector; open Traces and watch Delta
- Use segment seeker to step corner-by-corner inside the sector
- On 2D, check comparison markers for brake and throttle timing
